Dr Shane Preece Bio

Dr Shane Preece grew up in South Jordan, Utah. As a child and teen he enjoyed staying busy participating in his favorite sports: basketball, football, and water polo. After a whiplash injury that occurred when he was 11 years old he received years of medical treatments. The injury continued to affect him and cause him to avoid situations, crowded places and school hallways, and consider quitting his favorite sports. As a last resort, his parents took him to a chiropractor where the doctor had a completely different view and action of treatment for his injury. After a couple months of chiropractic care his injury was fixed at the age of now 15 years old. Being healed by traditional chiropractic care is what lead Shane to want to become a Doctor of Chiropractic himself. Looking back it frustrates him knowing that if they would have tried chiropractic care in the first place it would have saved him 4 years of pain, suffering, shots, physical therapy, etc.

Dr Shane Preece graduated from Jordan High School in 2005 and went on to serve a full time 2 year service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the California Carlsbad Mission from 2006 to 2008. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he met his wife Krista and married in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2010. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from BYU in 2012. Shane and Krista moved onto Davenport, Iowa where Shane attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, the fountainhead of all chiropractic schools. While there they had their first child, Scarlett in 2013. Shane was a Campus Guide at Palmer and graduated in 2015 with Honors, Magna Cum Laude. He has always took pride in doing the best he can in all he does, especially education.

Dr Shane Preece started as a traditional chiropractor twisting and popping the spine, just as any other. He was unsatisfied with the inconsistent patient outcomes. Then after learning and becoming proficient in the NUCCA technique, which does not twist or pop the spine, he found it produced superior clinical results. Dr. Preece found the NUCCA technique to be very gentle, more specific, and longer lasting. Dr. Preece and his family moved to Southern Utah where they had their second child, Kannon in 2015. He completed his preceptorship and continued to work with Balanced Health Care for the next 4 years, before opening TruHealth – Family Chiropractic & Wellness in July 2019.

Dr Shane Preece is Webster Technique Certified, which is the specific chiropractic pregnancy adjustment. He learned while his wife was pregnant with their first child how essential specific chiropractic care is for the pregnant mother and recommends all women who are pregnant to receive the Webster Technique on a regular basis for a more comfortable pregnancy and easier birth.

Dr Shane Preece found his passion for taking care of kids from becoming a father of two, which lead him to become the ONLY Board Certified Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractor through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) in all of Southern Utah. His goal is to help you have the Healthiest Kids on the Block. Dr. Preece has a fun and energetic personality yet focuses on the details. He loves to take patients from dis-ease to TRU HEALTH while having the data and measurements to show you how he did it.

Dr Shane Preece has had Functional Neurology training with an emphasis in Neurobehavioral Disorders from Dr. Robert Melillo and continues to receive further education in this area to help children with learning disabilities, developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, etc. The combination of NUCCA with his Pediatric and Prenatal education creates a very unique and highly effective form of health care. That is why he has been labeled “The Kids Chiro”. In Dr. Preece’s spare time he loves watching movies, playing basketball, dating his wife, and goofing around with his kids.
